LA POINTE
EXPOSITION SOLO de Jean-François Hamelin
Explorer le paradoxe de la frontière, élément protecteur et vecteur d’exclusion, ainsi que son omniprésence dans Pointe-Saint-Charles constitue la genèse de ce projet photographique. Le spectateur est appelé à déambuler dans le quartier en suivant un itinéraire et un narratif établis par la séquence photographique, visant à faire ressentir chez le spectateur l’influence psychologique des éléments visuels (clôtures, rails, autoroutes, etc.) constituant l’environnement qui nous entourent.
L’exposition La Pointe présente des extraits choisis du travail de Jean-François Hamelin dans le cadre d’une résidence de création offerte par Maison Photo Montréal.
SOLO EXHIBITION by Jean-François Hamelin
The idea of exploring the paradox within the concept of a frontier, that can provide in the same time protection and exclusion, as well as it its omnipresence within Point-Saint-Charles territory both constitute the genesis of the photo essay. The spectator is invited to walk in the neighborhood following a route and a narrative established by the photographic sequence, aiming to make the spectator feel the psychological influence of the visual elements (fences, rails, highways, etc.) typical of this borough.
The exhibition La Pointe presents selected excerpts from Jean-François Hamelin’s work as part of a creative residency offered by Maison Photo Montréal.
